1. SHERQ Learnership Programme

Division: Human Resources (Learning & Development)
Duration: 12 Months
Closing Date: 04 June 2025
Location: Cato Ridge
Key Responsibilities
- Attend and complete theoretical and practical training in SHERQ-related areas.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and complete assessments as per the learnership requirements.
- Perform all SHERQ-related workplace tasks including safety checks, health protocols, environmental monitoring, risk assessment, and quality control procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Science
Skills & Competencies:
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail
- Good planning and organising skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong interpersonal skills
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain a satisfactory medical report from the company’s medical centre
- No work experience required

Key Responsibilities
- Gain exposure to plant safety procedures and systems
- Conduct engineering calculations and analysis
- Participate in plant operations and process improvement activities
- Assist with report writing and technical documentation
- Support and coordinate ongoing engineering projects
- Monitor equipment and contribute to operational efficiency
- Ensure completion of logbook activities as required by your institution
What You’ll Need to Apply
Minimum Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Completed S4 subjects in Industrial Engineering
- Minimum 60% average overall and 65% in major subjects
- A valid statement of results
- A letter from your institution requesting workplace training

What You’ll Do
As part of the training programme, your responsibilities will include:
- Gaining exposure to chemical plant safety systems and operations
- Conducting engineering calculations and supporting process evaluations
- Participating in plant operations, HAZOPs and safety assessments
- Performing lab analysis (where required)
- Engaging in technical report writing and documentation
- Supporting or leading chemical engineering projects
- Completing all logbook requirements as per university guidelines
Who Should Apply
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- S4 Chemical Engineering subjects completed
- Minimum 60% average overall, with at least 65% in major subjects
- Official statement of results
- Letter from your institution confirming the need for workplace training
Skills & Competencies:
