Clerk Buyer

Pick n Pay is looking for a Clerk Buyer to support its busy purchasing department. This role is ideal for individuals with strong administrative, organisational, and numerical skills who want to grow their careers in procurement and retail.

As a Clerk Buyer, you will play an important role in ensuring goods, services, and materials are sourced effectively, while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and supporting the smooth operation of business processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, and track purchase orders.
• Ensure purchase orders are accurate, timely, and meet company specifications.
• Maintain ongoing communication with suppliers to secure timely deliveries.
• Resolve pricing, delivery, or quality-related issues with suppliers.
• Keep detailed records of purchase orders, invoices, and receipts.
• Assist with market research to source cost-effective products and services.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and regulations.
• Evaluate product and supplier performance against company standards.
• Prepare procurement reports for management.
• Work with logistics teams to ensure smooth flow of goods to the business.
• Support other departments with timely procurement to maintain operational efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

• Business-related degree (essential).
• 1-2 years’ retail or procurement experience.
• Proficiency in SAP, BW, MS Word, and MS Outlook.
• Strong Excel skills for reporting and analysis.
