About the Role
As an Inventory Administrator, you will oversee the end-to-end management of stock within MTN’s Own Shop operations.
This includes maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with company procedures, and supporting seamless order fulfillment to meet both customer and business needs.
You will be responsible for ensuring all goods, from handsets to SIM cards, are handled, tracked, and secured in accordance with MTN’s PPPs (Policies, Processes, and Procedures).
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Maintain optimal stock levels in line with the MRP framework.
- Receive, dispatch, and reconcile stock items while ensuring accurate documentation.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock takes to verify accuracy.
- Apply the first-in, first-out (FIFO) inventory control method.
- Manage returns (TECH, OBF, warranty, obsolete stock).
- Coordinate technical returns and repaired phone receipts.
- Ensure vault security and proper housekeeping within the inventory area.
- Source inter-branch transfers (IBTs) and liaise with regional inventory controllers.
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare and maintain stock-related reports (PODs, stock on hand, loan phones, etc.).
- File and store all paperwork securely in accordance with Metrofile procedures.
- Track, log, and resolve discrepancies or interface issues.
Customer Service & Support
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Provide timely support to customer service representatives (CSR) by issuing required stock.
- Implement systems and processes that improve customer satisfaction and minimize delays.
- Foster a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12.
- 1-2 years’ experience in inventory, stock control, or supply chain operations.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, ERP systems).
- Previous customer service experience is an advantage.
- Knowledge of stock fulfillment and distribution processes.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
