About the Role
As a Production Trainee, you’ll join the BASF Production, Maintenance and Technical Services team, where your role will contribute directly to operational excellence, quality assurance, and health and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll be part of the core production operations and expected to:
- Place raw materials on the production floor and assist with product movement using forklifts
- Ensure filled products meet Quality Control approval before dispatch
- Perform regular plant inspections and safety checks during shifts
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of workspaces according to OSH Act and EHSQ Policy
- Support monthly productivity and quality improvement targets
- Keep all protective gear and equipment in excellent condition
- Uphold compliance with all BASF internal procedures and safety protocols
- Provide support across production and maintenance tasks as needed
Minimum Requirements
To apply, you must meet at least one of the following:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
- NQF Level 2 theory completed in Chemical Operations, with only the practical component outstanding
- N6 in Chemical Engineering requiring workplace practical experience
You should also:
- Be safety-conscious and detail-oriented
- Be able to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
