The Eastern Cape Department of Agriculture is offering external bursaries for 2026. These bursaries support unemployed youth who meet subject requirements and want to study Agricultural Engineering / Bio-Resource Engineering or Veterinary Technology at a registered South African university.

Who Can Apply (Eligibility)
- South African citizen (preference for Eastern Cape residents and historically disadvantaged groups)
- Matric/NCV learners (current Grade 12 or NCV also considered) with subject combinations:
- For Agricultural Engineering / Bio-Resource Engineering: Mathematics and Physical Science
- For Veterinary Technology: Life Science, Physical Science, and Mathematics
- Proof of admission / provisional admission / registration from a registered Higher Education Institution
- Household income:
- ≤ R350,000 per year (general applicants)
- ≤ R600,000 per year (applicants with disabilities)
- Willing to work back for the Department for a period equal to the funded study time

- Registration fees
- Tuition
- Accommodation
- Meals
- Prescribed textbooks
(No historical debt will be covered.)
