The City of Johannesburg (CoJ), through its Group Citizen Relationship and Urban Management (CRUM) Department, is offering an 18-month paid internship to help qualifying students gain hands-on administrative and stakeholder engagement experience in a public service environment.
This internship forms part of the City’s effort to support students who need practical exposure to complete or enhance their qualifications.
Internship Role: Administration Intern – Citizen Relationship and Urban Management
Location: Traduna House, 118 Jorissen Street, Braamfontein
Closing Date: Thursday, 22 May 2025
Monthly Stipend: R10 109.86 (no additional benefits)

What You’ll Learn
As an intern, you will support the Integrated Service Delivery and Stakeholder Interface Unit, where your duties will include:
- Providing administrative support for service delivery initiatives
- Assisting with the coordination of stakeholder engagements
- Helping prepare qualitative and quantitative reports
- Participating in public communication and internal interface activities
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for this internship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Completed Grade 12/Matric
- Hold a National Diploma or Degree (minimum 360 credits) in any of the following:
- Public Administration
- Business Administration
- Public Relations
- Journalism
- International Relations
- Marketing and Communications
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Be a resident of the City of Johannesburg
Required Skills and Competencies
You must demonstrate:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Excellent time management, coordination, and record-keeping
- Attention to detail with the ability to handle information accurately
- A professional and ethical approach to work
- Willingness to work collaboratively with others
