The City of Johannesburg (CoJ), Group Finance Department, is offering exciting Internship opportunities for unemployed graduates. This programme is designed to provide hands-on experience in the field of customer services, with a focus on revenue-related queries.

Position Details:

  • Position Title: Internship (Revenue Call Centre, Customer Services Centre, Billing, and Credit Control)
  • Duration: 18 months (contract)
  • Department: Finance Department, Revenue Shared Services Centre
  • Stipend: R9 531,54 per month
  • Location: Thuso House, 61 Jorissen Street, Braamfontein

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply standard procedures to log revenue-related queries for further processing by relevant departments.
  • Resolve queries related to first-time contact and escalate others where necessary.
  • Maintain electronic data/records related to customer queries and account information.
  • Follow the City of Johannesburg’s Performance Management Policy.
  • Maintain effective working relations with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure a high level of customer service.
  • Utilize resources efficiently, adhering to the City’s policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12 and a relevant tertiary qualification at NQF level 6 or higher, OR a student currently enrolled in an NQF level 6 or higher qualification.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office applications).
  • Problem-solving skills and time management.
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret mathematical information and handle pressure.
  • Basic understanding of billing concepts and functions.
