Job Purpose
The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver service excellence through:
- Providing efficient customer service
- Performing point of sale (POS) operational activities
- Maintaining merchandising and store standards
- Creating a positive shopping experience for customers
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently execute all operational activities at the point of sale
- Ensure accuracy when scanning merchandise and processing payments
- Handle cash and card transactions securely and efficiently
- Proactively promote Clicks’ Clubcard and enroll new members
- Inform customers about current promotions to boost sales
- Act as a brand ambassador, providing a friendly and professional service
- Maintain store cleanliness and merchandising standards
- Continuously develop product knowledge and share information with customers
- Support the company’s vision to be the customer’s first choice in health and beauty retail
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Essential: Grade 12 (Matric)
- Desirable: 50% in Maths and English at Grade 12 level
- Desirable: Qualification in Retail / Business Management
- Desirable: Experience in a customer-facing role within retail or FMCG
Skills & Knowledge
- Basic mathematical calculations
- Retail/FMCG background with merchandising and promotions knowledge
- Understanding of stock management procedures
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Good communication (verbal and written)
- Computer literacy and numeracy skills
- Planning, organizing, and problem-solving abilities
