The Border Management Authority (BMA) is a newly established public service entity responsible for border control, security, and operations. Operating under Section 199(3) of the South African Constitution, the BMA plays a critical role in protecting and managing South Africa’s borders.

As part of its recruitment drive, BMA is looking for skilled and responsible heavy-duty vehicle drivers to support its operations across various ports of entry.

Position: Drivers (Heavy Duty Vehicle)

Key Responsibilities

  • Vehicle Maintenance and Reporting: Conduct daily inspections before and after trips, ensure routine maintenance, and report any incidents, accidents, or faults.
  • Transport and Delivery: Safely transport staff, documents, and goods to assigned locations in a timely manner.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to road safety laws, border regulations, and company policies regarding vehicle use and movement of sensitive documents.
  • Customer Service: Provide professional service to clients, staff, and passengers, including assisting individuals with disabilities.
  • Work Schedule Flexibility: Be available for flexible working hours and possible overtime when required.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Education: Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent (NQF 4).

Driver’s Licence: Code EC (unendorsed) driver’s licence and a Professional Driving Permit (PDP) for categories P & G.

Experience: At least 5 years of driving experience operating buses and/or heavy motor vehicles.
