Key Responsibilities
- Tools, Equipment & Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Safety Compliance (SHEQ): Follow Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) standards and Eskom’s Safety Policy.
- Manual Labour Tasks: Perform heavy labour-intensive tasks, including lifting, carrying, pushing, holding, and moving materials and equipment.
- Technical Support: Assist in cabling construction and substation-related duties.
Minimum Requirements
Qualification(s)
- Grade 12 (Matric)
Experience
- 1-2 years’ experience in a technical field
- Prior experience in a relevant discipline of appointment
Skills and Competencies
- Physical fitness and stamina for manual labour
- Ability to use power and hand tools
- Knowledge of cabling construction and safety procedures
- Comfortable working at heights
- Time management and willingness to work overtime
- HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) skills
- Conflict resolution, interpersonal, and communication skills
Knowledge Requirements
- Understanding of work procedures in the relevant discipline
- Familiarity with Safety Rules and Regulations
- Ability to identify and use tools and equipment
