As part of the City’s commitment to youth employment and skills development, successful candidates will receive on-the-job training that can lead to qualified artisan status upon completion of the program.

Minimum Entry Requirements
To qualify, you must meet at least one of the following academic pathways:
- NTC 3 Technical Qualification with:
- Electrical Trade Theory
- Mathematics
- Engineering Science
- Industrial Electronics or any other heavy current-related subject
OR
- Technical Matric (Grade 12) with:
- English
- Electrical Trade Theory
- Mathematics
- Physical Science
- One additional subject
OR
- NCV Level 4 (Electrical) with 7 subjects
Additional Requirements
- A genuine passion for the electrical trade
- Must reside within the City of Cape Town Metropole
- A valid driver’s license (Code C1 preferred)
- Must not already be a qualified artisan
- Must not hold a National Diploma (S-level) or higher qualification
