Eskom is calling on motivated engineering graduates to apply for its Engineer in Training Programme (Systems and Tools). This structured learning opportunity combines institutional training with on-the-job experience, preparing young engineers to contribute to South Africa’s leading energy provider.

About the Programme

The Engineer in Training Programme offers graduates exposure to Eskom’s GX Head Office Engineering Unit within the Asset Information Management Department. Successful candidates will gain practical technical experience, leadership development, and insight into one of South Africa’s most critical industries.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following:

  • South African citizen.
  • Completed BEng/BSc Engineering degree in one of the following fields:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Electronics
    • Process Engineering
    • Metallurgy
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Civil Engineering
    • Industrial Engineering
  • Not enrolled in full-time studies.
  • Not currently participating in any internship or learner programme.

Competencies and Attributes

Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with Eskom policies and procedures (advantageous).

Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Negotiation and liaising ability.
