About the Role
As a Casual Cashier, you’ll deliver world-class customer service at the point of sale, ensuring smooth and accurate transactions. The role involves handling payments, managing cash flow, assisting customers, and maintaining store presentation standards in line with Dis-Chem’s operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and handle transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Process cash, card, voucher, and loyalty payments.
- Handle returns, exchanges, and refunds per company policy.
- Maintain accuracy in pricing, voids, and authorisations.
- Adhere to customer service standards and store policies.
- Keep your till balanced and money secure at all times.
- Maintain awareness of sales, promotions, and loyalty programs.
- Report suspicious activity or customer concerns to management.
- Uphold Dis-Chem’s 5-star communication and professionalism principles.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Minimum of 6 months’ cashier or till operation experience.
- Computer literate (MS Office).
- Strong numerical accuracy and communication skills.
- Fluent in English (a third language is an advantage).
- Willing and able to work retail hours.
- Reliable transport or residence near Eastgate.
