About the Role

As a Counter Sales (2IC), you’ll assist in managing day-to-day store operations, lead the sales floor, and support the branch in achieving growth targets. You’ll handle customer inquiries, ensure optimal stock levels, and maintain excellent store presentation. This position also involves supervising staff and ensuring the branch runs smoothly when management is unavailable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and manage sales to meet branch targets.
  • Maintain stock control and ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and technical product advice.
  • Supervise and guide branch staff in daily operations.
  • Handle administrative duties and ensure branch procedures are followed.
  • Promote a professional and positive company image.
  • Ensure the store remains clean, organized, and well-presented.
  • Develop product knowledge and participate in ongoing training.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric / Senior Certificate essential.
  • 2–3 years’ retail or sales experience (preferably in tools, hardware, or machinery).
  • Experience in branch operations or supervisory role beneficial.
  • Technical knowledge of tools and DIY equipment advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable, honest, and able to work independently or in a team.
  • Own vehicle and valid driver’s licence essential.
  • Working hours: Monday-Friday (08:00-17:00) and Saturdays (08:00-13:00).
