Thorburn Security Solutions is seeking Reaction Officers to join its security team. These roles cover the mining, corporate, retail, education, and residential estate sectors. Successful candidates will report to the Security Manager and will be responsible for maintaining safety and implementing security measures to protect employees, visitors, assets, and premises.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Protect employees, visitors, buildings, and movable assets.
- Patrol premises regularly to prevent and detect security threats.
- Monitor and operate surveillance equipment.
- Inspect plants, buildings, and movable equipment.
- Control access points and manage entry/exit of vehicles and people.
- Respond to alarms and mobilise assistance when necessary.
- Report irregularities, warn violators of rules, and restrain trespassers.
- Direct traffic on-site and ensure orderly flow.
- Complete detailed security reports, including observations and incidents.
- Maintain and care for security equipment to ensure functionality.
- Provide emergency assistance to staff and visitors.
- Follow procedures for fire prevention, patrols, accident investigations, and traffic control.
- Deliver excellent customer service while ensuring compliance with security policies and legislation.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) OR Grade 10/11 with more than 2 years’ experience.
- PSIRA Grade A or B certification.
- Armed Response Certificate.
- Valid Firearm Competency (Handgun, Shotgun, Rifle).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent report-writing skills.
- Willingness to relocate if required.
