Job Details
Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an exciting opportunity for a Retail Store Assistant at Aloe Pharmacy in Gqeberha. This full-time, permanent position requires someone who can provide operational and administrative support while ensuring excellent customer service.
The successful candidate will help manage store activities, deal with customer queries, process transactions, and maintain compliance with Dis-Chem’s policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain professional relationships with customers.
- Resolve customer queries, complaints, and compliments promptly.
- Assist at the point of sale with floats, refunds, returns, and transaction accuracy.
- Handle back shopping and returned goods correctly.
- Verify and review deliveries and invoices for accuracy.
- Support the Receiving Manager in preparing and logging DC claims.
- Manage and control high-risk stock.
- Prepare and order branch change requirements for cashiers.
- Maintain effective communication and document control (float, petty cash, cash on hand).
- Ensure adherence to turnover per hour benchmarks.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Basic computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook; SAP an advantage)
- Previous retail experience essential
- South African citizen with a clear credit and criminal record
- Driver’s license and/or own reliable transport
