About the Role
The Security Guard will be responsible for maintaining a safe, compliant, and secure environment across Dis-Chem’s retail facilities. The role involves continuous patrols, access control, and reporting of irregularities in line with established operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols and surveillance to prevent theft, vandalism, or unauthorized entry.
- Manage access control points for staff, suppliers, and customers.
- Record incidents and report suspicious activity promptly.
- Support store management during emergency situations and evacuations.
- Enforce safety procedures and ensure alarm and CCTV systems are functioning properly.
- Maintain accurate occurrence and security registers.
- Provide professional, courteous assistance to customers and employees.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Senior Certificate (Matric).
- PSIRA Grade C accreditation.
- Minimum 3 years’ security experience in a retail or warehouse environment.
- Physically fit and able to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent observation and communication skills.
Advantageous:
- 1 year in a similar security role.
- Basic fire emergency or health and safety training.
- Proficiency in an additional South African language.
