JSE Empowerment Fund (JEF) Bursary Programme 2025

The JSE Empowerment Fund (JEF) is offering bursaries for the 2025 academic year to financially assist high-performing students. This opportunity is open to South African students from previously disadvantaged groups who are enrolled in specific fields of study at recognized universities.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the JSE Bursary 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Top Academic Performer: Must be a full-time student with a minimum aggregate of 70%.

  • Recognized Universities:
    • University of Pretoria

    • Nelson Mandela University
    • University of Cape Town
    • University of Limpopo
    • North-West University
    • Fort Hare University
    • University of KwaZulu-Natal
    • University of the Free State

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen from a previously disadvantaged group.
  • The combined annual income of your parents or caregivers must not exceed R650,000.
  • Only students entering their 2nd year, 3rd year, or Honours level studies are eligible.

Required Documents:

  • Certified copy of your ID.
  • Proof of registration at a recognized university.
  • Academic record showing your grades.
  • Proof of household income.
  • Proof of residence.
  • An affidavit confirming the accuracy of the information provided.
