About the Programme
The apprenticeship equips trainees with the technical skills and experience needed to install, test, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment. Successful candidates will work under the guidance of qualified artisans while attending formal training at accredited institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare work areas, tools, and materials for electrical activities.
- Install, assemble, fit, and connect electrical equipment and control systems.
- Test, inspect, and commission electrical systems and assemblies.
- Maintain, modify, and repair equipment and installations.
- Apply trade knowledge and problem-solving in real working environments.
- Follow workplace health and safety standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have one of the following qualification routes:
N2 Subjects:
- Electrical Trade Theory
- Industrial Electronics
- Engineering Science
- Mathematics (Pure)
N3 – N6 Subjects:
- Industrial Electronics
- Mathematics (Pure)
- Engineering Science
- Electrotechnology / Industrial Technology
NCV Level 4:
- English, Mathematics (Pure), Life Orientation
- Vocational subjects: Electrical Principles & Practice, Workshop Practice, Electronic Control & Digital Electronics
- Optional: Electrical Systems & Construction OR Renewable Energy Technologies
Technical Grade 12:
- Mathematics (Pure), Physical Science, Electrical Technology
- Engineering Graphics & Design, Home Language, First Additional Language, Life Orientation
Other Requirements:
- Age: 18-35 years
- South African citizen
