Apprentice: Mechanical Fitter

Transnet is offering an apprenticeship opportunity for aspiring Mechanical Fitters at its Salt River training facility. This structured programme combines on-the-job training with formal technical instruction, preparing candidates to qualify as skilled artisans under the supervision of experienced professionals.

Purpose of the Programme

The apprenticeship is a work-based learning programme that equips learners with practical and theoretical skills required in the trade of Mechanical Fitting. Apprentices will:

• Plan and prepare work sites, tools, and equipment for trade-related activities.
• Use hand, power, and measuring tools in maintenance and assembly work.
• Install, assemble, and fit mechanical components.
• Test, inspect, commission, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and equipment.

N2 Subjects

N3 Subjects
