As a Maintenance Technician at Pullman Cape Town, you’ll help keep the hotel running smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll be handling plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general facility maintenance to make sure everything works safely and efficiently for guests and staff. Your job matters because you’ll be ensuring the comfort and safety of everyone who steps into the hotel.
What You’ll Be Doing
Here’s what your daily work could look like:
- Doing regular checks and fixing issues with plumbing, electricals, HVAC, and equipment
- Responding to maintenance requests quickly and quietly to avoid guest disruption
- Inspecting the building to find risks or repair needs before they cause problems
- Logging maintenance work and keeping track of repairs and parts used
- Working closely with contractors and service providers
- Following health, safety, and hygiene rules at all times
- Helping reduce waste and power usage around the hotel
- Supporting hotel sustainability goals like recycling and energy saving
What You Need to Apply
You don’t need to be an expert at everything, but you do need to know your way around a toolbox. Here’s what helps:
- Previous experience in maintenance or as a building operator
- Basic mechanical and technical skills – plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Able to work independently and with a team
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, holidays, or overnights when needed
