Minimum Requirements

  • BSc Honours Degree/Postgraduate Diploma in Physics/Mathematics/Applied Radiation Sciences and Technology/Engineering Sciences at NQF8 with 480 credits
  • 7 years’ experience in reactor physics or radiation protection physicist related experience at a nuclear power plant.
  • South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP)

Responsibilities

  • 1. Establish and implement fuel management strategy and provide nuclear assurance.
  • 2. Provide high level technical advice.
  • 3. Provide technical leadership on major analysis initiatives.
  • 4. Perform independent oversight activities.
  • 5. Validate and integrate analysis for nuclear applications.

Department: Radiation Protection & Chemistry Management. Business Unit: Koeberg Power Station. Location: Western Cape.
