Minimum Requirements
- Diploma (NQF 6) in Financial /Cost Accounting, or other relevant Finance Diploma.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- Knowledge of asset management and financial administration
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Familiarity with financial/accounting systems (ERP or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of IFRS and asset accounting standards.
- Familiarity with insurance claim processes.
- 2–3 years’ experience in financial administration or asset management.
- 4–5 years’ experience in asset management in higher education or a large organisation.
- Good numerical and reconciliation skills

- Understanding of internal controls and audit requirements.
- Communication and stakeholder support skills.

Responsibilities
- Maintain the DUT Fixed Assets Register to account for all additions, disposals and transfers of assets in accordance with the relevant asset management policies and procedures.
- Plan and schedule the annual physical verification of DUT fixed assets and inform relevant internal stakeholders accordingly
- Assist in managing insurance documentation for university assets.
- Ensure compliance with DUT’s asset management policies and procedures.
- Assist in preparing monthly reconciliations of asset accounts.
- Provide guidance to departments on asset management procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of asset movements and disposals.
- Provide support for projects assigned by the Manager: Assets
