Position Details:

  • Location: Table Mountain National Park, Western Cape
  • Salary: R137,509.70 – R188,179.21 (Paterson Grade B2)
  • Closing Date: 30 September 2024

Key Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Grade 12
    • Trade Certificate in Electrical, Aircon, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Carpentry, or related field (advantageous)
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of three (3) years of practical experience in a technical/maintenance field
    • Extensive working knowledge of electrical maintenance (advantageous)
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Basic knowledge of building maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, and equipment repairs
    • Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
    • Basic administrative skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and in unfavorable conditions
  • Other Requirements:
    • Code 10 driver’s license with PDP
    • Willingness to work on weekends and public holidays
    • Candidates will be required to conduct a practical assessment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform semi-skilled maintenance tasks, including plumbing, welding, air conditioner and refrigerator repairs, electrical work, and civil works.
  • Conduct routine maintenance of tourist buildings, staff accommodations, ablution blocks, electrical systems, and other infrastructure services.
  • Record daily maintenance activities and identify future maintenance needs.
  • Transport equipment, materials, and staff while inspecting vehicles.
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, and executing technical tasks.
  • Manage stock, assist with supply chain processes, and maintain inventory records.
  • Carry out basic housekeeping and other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks.
