SANRAL Announces 2025 Bursary Programme for Aspiring Engineers and Finance Professionals

The South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) invites South African students to apply for the 2025 Bursary Programme. This programme provides financial support for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies in critical fields related to SANRAL’s operations.

  • Supply Chain Management

Bursary Coverage

  • Full Bursary: Covers registration fees, tuition fees, study material and equipment, accommodation, and meals.
  • Partial Bursary: Covers registration fees, tuition fees, accommodation, and access to the wellness programme.

The type of bursary awarded will be based on a means test to assess financial need, and a family contribution may be required based on the results.

Selection Criteria

  • Academic performance
  • Financial need (as determined by SANRAL’s Bursary Policy)

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview. If you do not receive feedback by 31 December 2024, consider your application unsuccessful.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be 35 years old or younger
  • Must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
  • Must be studying or accepted to study full-time in one of the specified fields (no part-time or distance learning)
  • Must be studying or accepted at a recognized and accredited public tertiary institution in South Africa (no private institutions)
  • Must meet academic requirements
    • Matric students: Minimum overall average of 70%
    • University students: Minimum overall average of 60%
  • Must have proven financial need
  • Must not be receiving any other bursary funding
  • Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply

How to Apply

Submit the following supporting documents:

  • Certified copy of ID document or birth certificate
  • Certified copy of term 1 and 2 results (current Matric students)
  • Certified copy of full academic record on institution’s letterhead (current tertiary students)
  • Certified copy of proof of tertiary registration
  • Motivational letter (1 page) about yourself and why you deserve the bursary
  • Certified copies of parents or guardians’ ID documents
  • Certified copies of parents or guardians’ proof of income (recent payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed or self-employed, not older than 3 months)
  • Proof of parents or guardians’ residence (water and electricity bill from the local council)
