Purpose of the Role
You will lead the implementation of merSETA’s supply chain strategy in line with PFMA, PPPFA and other key legislative frameworks. Your role will ensure governance, efficient contract management, supplier performance, and robust procurement systems across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop & implement SCM frameworks, policies, and procedures
- Oversee compliance with PFMA, PPPFA and B-BBEE legislation
- Lead contract management and supplier risk mitigation
- Establish SCM performance metrics and reporting structures
- Respond to AGSA audit findings and support procurement controls
- Align SCM processes with budgetary provisions and strategic goals
- Manage demand planning and build supplier databases
Minimum Requirements
- Education:
- Honours (NQF Level 8) in Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce or related field (mandatory)
- Master’s (NQF Level 9) will be an advantage
- Experience:
- Minimum 8 years in supply chain management
- At least 5 years in management roles
- 5 years in a public institution
- Proven experience designing and managing SCM systems in multi-project environments
Skills & Competencies
- Deep knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, PPPFA, B-BBEE Act
- People management and leadership
- Strategic thinking, numerical analysis, and decision-making
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
