The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is inviting South African students to apply for its bursary programme for the 2025 academic year.
This bursary is aimed at supporting the education of students from disadvantaged backgrounds who wish to pursue studies in fields related to the SARB’s functions, contributing to addressing the skills shortage in South Africa.

Bursary Purpose:
The SARB bursary seeks to provide financial assistance to students who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need. The bursary is available for studies in fields that align with the SARB’s role in maintaining economic and financial stability in South Africa.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for the SARB bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Provisional Acceptance: Must be provisionally accepted into an undergraduate degree program at a South African university.
- Academic Performance: Must have achieved an average pass mark of 70% in the June Grade 12/Matric examinations. The final bursary award will be subject to final exam results.
- Age: Must be younger than 30 years of age.
- Financial Need: Must demonstrate financial need, indicating that they cannot afford university education without a bursary.

- Deadline: All applications must be submitted by Monday, 30 September 2024. Late applications will not be considered.
- Required Documents: Applicants should submit:
- Their June Grade 12/Matric examination results.
- Proof of acceptance at a recognised South African university (student number).
- Any other relevant supporting documents.
