Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the SAWS TVET Learnerships 2026, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- You must have completed an N6 in Electrical Engineering
- You must not have completed more than one year of relevant practical experience after completing N6
- You must submit certified copies of your N3 to N6 Certificates of Achievement
- You must provide an official letter from your TVET College confirming that 18 months of practical training is required to complete your National Diploma
- Your CV must clearly indicate your ID number, residential address, and contact details
- You must be a South African citizen

Stipend and Conditions
- Learners accepted into the programme will receive a monthly stipend of R5 500.
- Learners must arrange their own accommodation and transport to and from the SAWS offices in Centurion. SAWS will not provide housing or travel assistance.
- The South African Weather Service is under no obligation to offer permanent employment after the completion of the programme.
Duties and Workplace Exposure
During the 18-month programme, learners can expect structured exposure that supports their Electrical Engineering qualification. This may include assisting with technical maintenance tasks, learning workplace safety procedures, supporting electrical systems operations, and gaining experience in a professional technical environment.
