Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: NQF Level 2 (Grade 10 certificate or equivalent).
- Experience: A minimum of 6 months trade-related experience.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies, and to be on your feet for extended periods (up to 12 hours per day).
- Availability: Willingness to work shifts during the day, weekends, and public holidays.
Duties
As a Tradesman Aid, your responsibilities will include:
- Performing laboratory tests on road building materials according to TMH 1, TMH 5, and SANS 3001 test methods.
- Verifying all laboratory equipment according to ISO 17025 standards and maintaining cleanliness in the lab.
- Assisting with field tests and sampling on-site.
- Reporting faulty apparatus and performing tasks as specified by higher-ranking officers.
