Program Overview
This 4-month Mining Cadet Training Program is designed to provide theoretical and hands-on experience with drill rigs and dump trucks, focusing on operational safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate of competence, enhancing their employability in the mining and industrial sectors. The training includes:
- Workplace Readiness Training – Learn the fundamentals of operating in an industrial setting.
- Equipment Handling & Operational Safety – Gain expertise in heavy machinery and open-cast mining practices.
- Industry Regulations & Compliance – Understand South African mining laws and safety standards.
- Practical On-the-Job Training – Work under the supervision of experienced professionals at Mogalakwena Complex.
Minimum Entry Requirements
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy and English (Minimum pass mark of 40%)
- Physically and medically fit for mining operations
- Willing to work in an open-cast mining environment (dusty conditions)
- Must pass a psychometric assessment to determine suitability
- Must pass K53 Simulator Assessment
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Valid South African Driver’s License (advantageous, but not required)
- South African citizenship & residency in host communities (Proof of residence required)
Important: Applications without certified copies of qualifications and proof of residence will not be considered.
