Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be completing a qualification in:
- Safety Management or
- Environmental Health at NQF Level 6 or 7
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Knowledge of OSH Act and SHEQ legal frameworks
- Willingness to work shifts and operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Key Responsibilities
As a SHERQ Intern, your duties will include:
- Capturing and managing non-conformances, corrective actions, and incident reports
- Participating in internal audits, safety inspections, and follow-ups
- Assisting with audit files and compliance documentation for external and internal review
- Supporting site fire prevention and emergency planning initiatives
- Performing job hazard analysis and contributing to risk mitigation strategies
- Conducting generic SHERQ training sessions and assisting with awareness programmes
- Coordinating safety communications between departments and the on-site clinic
- Developing and updating risk assessments and safety registers
