Umzumbe Municipality is offering five Finance Management Internships to unemployed graduates.

This 2-year contract role provides valuable exposure to key public finance systems and operations—ideal for those aiming for a career in government finance or municipal auditing.

Who Should Apply?

To qualify, you must:

• Be a South African citizen
• Hold a Matric / Grade 12 certificate
• Have a National Diploma or 3-year Degree in:
  • BCom
  • Financial Management
  • Accounting
  • Taxation
  • Auditing
• Be computer literate, especially in Microsoft Office
• Have strong numerical and analytical skills
• Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Have good communication skills, both written and verbal

What You’ll Gain

As a Finance Management Intern, you’ll be trained and mentored in areas such as:

• Budget planning and implementation
• Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) compliance
• GRAP standards and financial reporting
• Supply Chain Management (SCM)
• Revenue and income control
