Stipend: R5,000 per month
Who Can Apply?
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be between the ages of 18–35
- Reside within Umzumbe Municipality (Attach proof from a ward councillor)
- Have a National Diploma or Degree in one of the listed fields
- Be currently unemployed
- (Where applicable) be registered with a professional body

If you’re interested but don’t yet meet the qualifications, consider these affordable and accessible study options:
- National Diplomas in Public Admin, HR, IT, or Communications from TVET Colleges
- Short Courses via Coursera or Udemy in Local Government, Office Management, Disaster Management, or Accounting
- Bachelor’s Degrees in Public Management or Development Studies through UNISA or University of Zululand
These are often NSFAS or SETA bursary eligible, and they pave the way for future municipal roles.
