Job Description

As an Over-the-Counter Assistant, you will support the Department of Despatch by assisting in the picking, packing, and distribution of study materials for students who opt for counter collection during registration.

Responsibilities

  • Handle the picking, packing, and shipping of pre-packed study material parcels.
  • Remove study materials not collected within three days unless alternative arrangements are made.
  • Record details of study material collected by students, including tracking who collected what and in what quantities.
  • Provide support for other warehouse operations as needed with appropriate training.
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

Qualifications

Education and Certification:

  • Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
  • Must currently be a registered UNISA student.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and planning skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capable of handling pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • High level of accuracy and concentration.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and systems.
  • Flexibility to work overtime if required.

Recommendations:

  • Knowledge of general supply chain processes and warehouse operations.
  • Completion of at least 10 modules at UNISA.
