Vodacom Bursary Programme 2026

The Vodacom Bursary Programme is one of South Africa’s premier merit-based bursary schemes for students pursuing careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

If you’re a high-achieving student who lacks the financial means to continue your studies, this is your chance to receive full funding and career support from one of the country’s leading technology companies.

What the Bursary Covers

This is a fully-funded bursary that includes:

  • Full university accommodation or capped support for private accommodation
  • Full registration and tuition fees
  • Annual textbook allowance
  • Meal allowance

Plus, you’ll also receive:

  • Laptop and cellphone
  • Orientation workshop for first-time bursars
  • Vacation Work programme for workplace experience
  • Work Readiness Training for final-year students
  • Wellness Programme access (ICAS)

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the Vodacom Bursary Programme, applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen by birth
  • Be studying full-time at a South African public tertiary institution
  • Be pursuing a STEM-related qualification
  • Be in Grade 12 or already in 1st year or above at university
  • Have achieved:
    • 70% or higher in Grade 12 (all subjects)
    • Minimum 65% average if already in tertiary

How to Apply

Applications for the 2025 intake are now closed, but don’t worry – the 2026 intake opens on 1 June 2025.

Step 1:
Check that you meet all the minimum academic and citizenship criteria listed above.

Step 2:
Visit the Vodacom Bursary Portal (link will be available from 1 June 2025) and complete your application.

Step 3:
After submitting your application, you’ll receive confirmation via email. The Bursary Management Team will review your application and keep you updated throughout the process.
