18 Paid Security Guard Training for Unemployed Youth – WILDTRUST YES Program 2025

The WILDTRUST, in partnership with NEDBANK, is offering 18 fully paid YES Security Guard Training Program in rural KwaZulu-Natal. This initiative is part of the Youth Employment Services (YES) programme aimed at tackling youth unemployment by providing one year of on-the-job training.

If you live near Mabibi, KwaDapha, or eNkovukeni, and meet the basic requirements, this is your opportunity to join a meaningful work experience programme that offers structure, a monthly income, and a pathway into the private security industry.

Location: KwaZulu-Natal
Salary: R4,991.03 per month
Contract Duration: 12 months (fixed-term)
Closing Date: 28 March 2025

Available Security Guard Positions

18 Security Guard roles across the following hubs:

  • Mabibi Community Resource Hub
  • KwaDapha Community Resource Hub
  • eNkovukeni Community Resource Hub

Minimum Requirements

  • South African citizen aged 18–27 years
  • Matric certificate (Grade 12)
  • Grade D Security Certificate (PSIRA registered)
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a security guard (preferred)
  • SARS income tax number and valid email address
  • Able to walk to work daily
  • Willing to work weekends and public holidays
  • Physically strong and fit
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Currently unemployed
  • Must have or be able to open a bank account

Note: Applicants who have previously participated in a YES programme are not eligible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol and inspect property and secure all exits and entrances
  • Monitor access points and ensure guests sign in/out
  • Authorize entry of individuals and vehicles
  • Remove trespassers and manage security incidents
  • Report suspicious behaviour or incidents
  • Contact emergency services when necessary
  • Ensure guests adhere to site rules
  • Provide regular updates to supervisors
