AFGRI 2025 Work Integrated Learning Programme for Agriculture Students

AFGRI Farmer Development is calling on passionate, ambitious students pursuing agricultural studies to apply for their 2025 Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme.

This structured internship offers selected students an opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience at the Vasfontein Farm in Pretoria North, helping to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world agricultural operations.

This program is ideal for students who are finalising their National Diploma in Agriculture and are required to complete WIL as part of their qualification.

Who Can Apply?

To be considered, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen under the age of 35
  • Must be enrolled in or planning to register for the final year of a:
    • National Diploma: Agriculture (Crop Production)
    • National Diploma: Agriculture (Animal Production)
    • National Diploma: Agriculture (Irrigation Systems)
  • WIL must be a compulsory requirement to complete the diploma
  • Must submit both:
    • An official academic record
    • A formal letter from their institution confirming the WIL requirement
  • Must not have worked full-time in their field for more than one year
  • Must reside in or near Pretoria North
  • Good academic performance will be a strong advantage

What You’ll Do

During the 12-month internship, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams on a Work Integrated Learning project
  • Gaining structured on-the-job experience aligned with your academic focus
  • Supporting your assigned team with daily tasks and project work
  • Carrying out additional responsibilities that contribute to departmental goals
