Mthashana TVET College, with support from NSF funding, is offering 41 Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities for South African youth who hold an N6 Certificate and need workplace exposure to qualify for their National Diploma.

This programme is part of a broader push to bridge the gap between education and employment through structured, real-world training.

Who Should Apply

This opportunity is designed for TVET graduates who have completed their N6 qualification but still need 18 months of work experience to graduate. If you’re committed, ready to learn, and have not received a WIL stipend before, this programme is a great way to enter the workforce.

Minimum Requirements

  • Recognised N6 Certificate in the relevant field
  • Valid South African ID
  • No criminal record
  • Strong communication (verbal and written)
  • Must be available for the full duration (18 months)
  • Good administrative and planning skills
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Must not have been part of a previous NSF-funded WIL programme

What You’ll Be Doing

During your internship, you’ll be expected to:

  • Complete all duties as outlined in your logbook
  • Follow supervisor or mentor instructions
  • Participate in tasks related to your field of study
  • Develop core workplace competencies like planning, communication, teamwork, and service excellence

This experience is aligned with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) requirements for a National Diploma.

    • Completed WIL application form
    • Recent CV
    • Copy of your ID
    • Copy of your Matric/NCV Level 4 certificate
    • Copy of your N6 certificate
  2. Email your application to nsfinserve@mthashana.edu.za
  3. Use the reference number of the post you’re applying for as the email subject
  4. Only one application per post is allowed. Multiple applications will lead to disqualification.
