This bursary provides financial assistance to students by covering various expenses, including partial or full tuition fees, accommodation, books, and meals, depending on the bursary type. Requirements

To be considered for the EY Chartered Accountancy Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Have completed Matric.
  • Achieve a minimum of 4 A’s in Matric (excluding Life Orientation).
  • Be studying towards a Chartered Accountancy degree qualification.
  • Be enrolled at a SAICA-accredited university (list provided in the application details).
  • Maintain a strong academic record.
  • Demonstrate strong accounting skills.
  • Show proven financial need (for the Academic Merit with Financial Need Bursary).

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted online via the EY Bursary Application portal for the 2025 academic year.

  • Certified copy of ID document.
  • Certified copy of Matric certificate.
  • Full academic record, including 2024 mid-year results.
  • Proof of university registration for 2024.
  • Student’s 3 months bank statement.
  • Parents or guardians’ proof of household income (latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed), if applying for the financial need bursary.
  • Latest fee quote from the university.
  • Curriculum Vitae.
  • Motivational letter to support your application.
