Hollywood Foundation Bursary Programme 2025

The Hollywood Foundation invites South African students to apply for its Bursary Programme for the 2025 academic year. This initiative supports both undergraduate and postgraduate studies, aiming to bridge the gap between high school and the workforce by funding students’ education and enhancing their employment prospects.

Eligible Fields of Study

Bursaries will be awarded for studies in the following fields:

  • Accounting
  • Computer Science
  • Data Science (BSc)
  • Digital Marketing
  • Finance
  • Information Management (BSc)
  • Marketing

Bursary Coverage

  • The bursary may provide full or partial cover for study-related expenses. The extent of coverage will depend on the candidate’s field of study and academic results.
  • The bursary will cover one year of study at a time, with the possibility of reapplying for funding each year.

Selection Process

  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete assessments and attend interviews before the final selection.
  • Applicants will receive feedback on the status of their application (whether successful or unsuccessful) by the end of December 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
  • Educational Status: Must have completed Matric or be currently in Matric.
  • Field of Study: Must be studying or intend to study towards a qualification in one of the eligible fields listed above, starting in 2025. This includes full-time Higher Certificates, National Certificates, Diplomas, Degrees, and Postgraduate studies.
  • Duration: Must be studying or intend to study towards a qualification that is 12 months or longer.
  • Institution: Must be studying or intend to study at a tertiary institution registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) in South Africa.
  • Academic Achievement:
    • Minimum overall average of 65% in Matric (if currently in Matric).
    • Minimum result of 65% per subject in Matric (if currently in Matric).
    • Minimum overall average of 60% at the tertiary level (if currently at the tertiary level).
  • Terms and Conditions: Must read and agree to the Terms and Conditions of the bursary (.pdf).

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted online via the Hollywood Foundation “Future is Bright” Bursary Application 2025 portal.

Ensure that you include clear copies of the following compulsory documents with your application:

  • Certified copy of your ID document.
  • Matric certificate or statement of results.
  • Acceptance letter or proof of application from your institution (on the institution’s letterhead).
  • Detailed information regarding your chosen qualification.
  • Name and address of the registered institution.
  • Proforma invoice or estimate invoice from your institution for full registration, tuition, and examination fees covering the full academic year, along with the length of the qualification (on the institution’s letterhead).
  • Proof of banking details of the registered institution.
  • Proof of address.
  • Motivational letter to support your application.
