Minimum Requirements

  • Qualification:
  • An NQF level 7 in Social Sciences.
  • Post graduate degree will be an added advantage (NQF level 9). Experience :
  • Management experience to support labour relations.
  • in participation in government institutions at various levels.
  • Ability to work as part of a Team.
  • Minimum of 10 years in Local Government.

  • Research to inform Primary Duties Ability to scan the Water and Sanitation sectoral environment and maintain good relations at Intergovernmental Relations (IGR) level.
  • Facilitation of Institutional Realignment and Development.
  • Planning the coordination of the activities and initiatives of water and sanitation institutions in relation to the Department of Water and Sanitation.
  • Strategically forge closer cooperation between Rand Water, Water and Sanitation Institutions and Water Services Authorities.
  • Foster collaboration between Water and Sanitation Institutions in Africa and developing Countries.
  • Alignment of development priorities of the Stakeholders for example that of Association of Water and Sanitation Institutions in South Africa (AWSISA, Amanzi Bargaining Council).
  • Principal Accountability
  • To support RWI regarding the alignment of Stakeholders research needs within Local government sector.
  • Support Government Performance Reviews relating to effective delivery of Water services.
  • Facilitate inputs from RW into the Institutional Realignment and Development in line with DWS.
  • Facilitate input into the National Water Resource Strategy revision process.
  • Professionalisation of the Public Sector.
  • Support the representation of RW on AWSISA and Amazi Bargaining Council.
  • Continuous scanning of the WSA and WSP environment.
  • Prepare reports and present findings to internal and external stakeholders and management
