Town and Regional Planner (Production Level): Development Planning Intelligence Management and Research

Minimum Requirements
- An appropriate B-Degree in Urban/Town and Regional Planning or relevant qualification
- A minimum of 3 years post qualification town and regional planning experience
- Compulsory registration with SACPLAN as a Professional Town and Regional Planner on appointment
- A valid code B (or higher) driving license
- Knowledge of the following: Applied knowledge of methods and approaches in development planning intelligence management, innovation, technological advances (e.g. geospatial analysis and science and geodatabase workflows, development planning data analytics, AI development and application etc.)
- Project management and Research methods inclusive of primary research in the Town/City and Regional Planning and Development Planning
- Knowledge of development planning, regional planning, spatial planning and land use management systems, principles, policies, and best practice
- Knowledge of and application of transversal integrated and coordinated planning approaches and support at Municipal, National and other Western Cape Government organs of state with regard to development planning intelligence management services
Responsibilities
- Support to the Director: Development Planning Intelligence Management, Data Analytics & Research Services with the provision of Development Planning Intelligence Management and Research Services to all stakeholders in the Western Cape. Support to the Director: Development Planning Intelligence Management & Research with the provision of Land Use Planning & Data Governance
