The Moses Kotane Research Institute (MKRI) is recruiting a videography experiential learner who will help produce visual content for research communication and public engagement in KwaZulu-Natal.
The opportunity is based in Durban and runs for 24 months, giving young media graduates the chance to develop professional skills in video production, editing and digital storytelling inside a public research institution.

Programme Overview
The videography experiential learner role forms part of MKRI’s effort to strengthen communication and public awareness around research projects and socio-economic initiatives in the province.
The selected graduate will work with the institute’s communications team and help create video and photography content used for digital campaigns, events and institutional reporting.

Monthly stipend: R10 000

What the Videography Learner Will Do
The experiential learner will support MKRI’s communications team in producing multimedia content used across different platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing videography and photography content for institutional projects
- Filming events and activities across KwaZulu-Natal
- Editing video material for social media and digital platforms
- Supporting communication campaigns and outreach initiatives
- Managing video content used for institutional visibility
- Assisting with general communications and media tasks
The role offers practical experience in digital media production within a professional public-sector environment.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following academic requirements.
NQF Level 7 qualification in
- Videography
- Applied Arts in Screen Arts and Technology
- Or a related field
Experience
- 0 to 2 years experience in videography, editing or video production
Additional advantage
- Valid driver’s licence

- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Report writing ability
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Office 365
