For graduates entering an increasingly competitive professional market, structured programmes that combine real work with mentorship remain one of the clearest entry points into long-term careers. PSG Financial Services is positioning its Graduate Programme for 2027 as such a pathway, targeting academically strong graduates across commerce, engineering, and science disciplines.
The programme is open to graduates based in Gauteng and the Western Cape, with placements linked to PSG’s operations in advisory, financial technology, and investment-related services.
Designed as a Transition From Study to Professional Work
PSG’s graduate programme runs on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the intention of accelerating graduates from academic study into professional roles. Rather than short observational placements, the programme places graduates into meaningful work environments where they are expected to contribute while developing both technical and soft skills.
According to the company, the structure is aimed at graduates who want exposure to industry specialists, formal training, and hands-on experience within a single programme cycle.
What the Programme Includes
Graduates accepted into the programme will receive structured on-the-job training, supported by formal skills development. This includes a combination of technical training aligned to each graduate’s field of study, as well as soft-skills development focused on communication, problem-solving, and professional conduct.
Each graduate is also supported through a mentorship and buddy system, intended to help new entrants navigate workplace expectations and career development. PSG has indicated that strong performance during the programme may lead to permanent employment opportunities, although this is not guaranteed.
Fields of Study Targeted
The 2027 intake is open to graduates who have completed a Bachelor’s, Honours, Master’s, or PhD qualification in a wide range of disciplines. These include commerce-related fields such as accounting, finance, economics, financial planning, law, investments, insurance, and information systems.
Engineering graduates are also targeted, particularly those from computer, chemical, electrical and electronic, industrial, and mechanical engineering backgrounds. In addition, PSG is recruiting science graduates in fields such as actuarial science, computer science, data science, mathematics, statistics, and applied mathematics.
Academic Requirements and Eligibility
Applicants must be South African citizens and hold a valid South African ID. PSG has set a minimum academic average of 65 percent, reflecting the programme’s focus on strong academic performance. Graduates are required to have completed their qualification before the programme start date.
Applications must include a comprehensive CV and a complete, up-to-date academic record. PSG has noted that incomplete applications will be automatically disqualified.
Location and Application Timeline
The programme is offered on a temporary basis, with placements linked to PSG’s offices in Gauteng and the Western Cape, including its Tygerfalls location. Applications remain open until 30 November 2026, under reference number POS06060.
