Graduate internships tied to large industrial employers remain one of the more structured pathways into South Africa’s corporate and energy sectors. In Mpumalanga and Gauteng, Sasol has confirmed a new intake under its Sasol Foundation Graduate Internship Programme, with 22 positions available for 2026.
The programme offers a 24-month fixed-term contract and will place successful candidates within Sasol business units across Secunda, Sasolburg and Sandton.
A Two-Year Placement Across Multiple Business Areas
The Sasol Foundation Graduate Internship Programme is positioned as a workplace development initiative aligned to graduates’ fields of study. According to Sasol, the objective is to equip young professionals with practical exposure, industry insight and structured learning within operational environments.
Interns will be placed within business units linked to Group Rewards and Human Capital Solutions, although placements may span several disciplines depending on qualification background.
Who the Programme Is Targeting
The internship is open to South African citizens aged between 18 and 29 who are currently unemployed. The programme specifically targets candidates residing within Sasol’s local communities in Secunda, Sasolburg, Ekandustria, and retail sites within a 50-kilometre radius.
Sasol has indicated that preference will be given to applicants from designated groups and persons with disabilities, in line with its Employment Equity Plan.

The 2026 intake spans a wide range of disciplines, reflecting the diversity of Sasol’s operations. Eligible graduates must have completed a bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:

- Law, Legal and Compliance, Commercial or Property Law

Duration and Conditions
The programme runs for 24 months under a fixed-term contract. Sasol has noted that applications will be processed through an automated system due to high volumes.
The closing date for applications is 10 March 2026, under reference number 11367. Applicants who do not receive feedback within 60 days after the closing date should consider their application unsuccessful.
