Netcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Nurse (Registered Nurse) with Post-Basic qualifications to deliver holistic, patient-centered care within a multidisciplinary team. This role includes advanced clinical care, professional nursing practice compliance, and mentorship within the unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialised and professional patient care based on nursing standards and protocols.
  • Conduct patient assessments, plan and implement personalised care plans.
  • Act as a patient advocate and ensure safe clinical practice.
  • Lead and assist in emergency treatment (RESUS) as per scope of practice.
  • Participate in ward rounds and clinical decision-making with doctors.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
  • Oversee nursing workflow, allocate staff, and manage shift responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical governance, nursing ethics and SOPs.
  • Promote patient safety, infection control and quality nursing care.
  • Support clinical training and mentoring of junior staff and students.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, families and healthcare teams.
  • Support Netcare’s digital transformation (CareOn electronic systems).

Minimum Requirements

  • Registered as a Professional Nurse (R/N) with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
  • Post-Basic qualification (PB) in a specialised nursing discipline (e.g. ICU/Trauma/Theatre/Critical Care)
  • Thorough understanding of nursing theory, ethics and modern clinical practice
  • Experience in critical or specialised care environments is advantageous
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends and standby as required
  • Professional dedication, resilience and patient-centered approach
