Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialised and professional patient care based on nursing standards and protocols.
- Conduct patient assessments, plan and implement personalised care plans.
- Act as a patient advocate and ensure safe clinical practice.
- Lead and assist in emergency treatment (RESUS) as per scope of practice.
- Participate in ward rounds and clinical decision-making with doctors.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
- Oversee nursing workflow, allocate staff, and manage shift responsibilities.
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance, nursing ethics and SOPs.
- Promote patient safety, infection control and quality nursing care.
- Support clinical training and mentoring of junior staff and students.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families and healthcare teams.
- Support Netcare’s digital transformation (CareOn electronic systems).
Minimum Requirements
- Registered as a Professional Nurse (R/N) with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
- Post-Basic qualification (PB) in a specialised nursing discipline (e.g. ICU/Trauma/Theatre/Critical Care)
- Thorough understanding of nursing theory, ethics and modern clinical practice
- Experience in critical or specialised care environments is advantageous
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends and standby as required
