Bursary Coverage:
- Master’s Degree by Research:
- Research allowance capped at R55,000 over the first three consecutive years.
- Re-application required for continuation.
- Master’s Degree by Coursework:
- Research allowance capped at R25,000 over the first three consecutive years.
- Re-application required for continuation.
- Doctoral Degree by Research:
- Research allowance capped at R80,000 over the first four consecutive years.
- Re-application required for continuation.
- Doctoral Degree by Experimental Research:
- Experimental research allowance capped at R120,000 over the first four consecutive years.
- Re-application required for continuation.

Important Notes:
- Funding is not guaranteed for all eligible students, as it depends on the availability of bursary funds.
- The bursary will be cancelled if the student:
- Fails to comply with the terms and conditions.
- Terminates their studies.
- In such cases, the bursary amount for the current year will be charged to the student’s account, and the Unisa legal and finance department will handle collections.
