The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) is offering bursaries through the JSE Empowerment Fund (JEF) to assist previously disadvantaged students in their 2nd or 3rd year of study, or those pursuing postgraduate (Honours) degrees.
The bursary aims to help future leaders reach their academic potential in fields that are critical to the country’s development.

The bursary is available to students studying towards degrees in the following areas:
- Computer Science
- Mathematics
- Actuarial Science
- Information Technology
- Informatics
- Data Analytics
- Economics
- Finance
- Accounting
Eligibility Criteria:
- You must be a South African citizen from a designated group.
- Studying full-time in your 2nd or 3rd year, or at the Honours level.
- Must be a top performer with a minimum aggregate of 70%.
- The joint income of your parents or caregivers must not exceed R650,000 per annum.
- You must be studying at one of the following institutions:
- University of Pretoria
- University of Johannesburg
- University of the Witwatersrand
- Nelson Mandela University
- University of Cape Town
- University of Limpopo
- North-West University
- University of Fort Hare
- University of KwaZulu-Natal
- University of the Free State
