Messenger Driver Vacancy at Department of Employment and Labour

The Department of Employment and Labour is looking for a dedicated Messenger Driver to join their Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) team in Pretoria. If you’re someone with a Grade 10 certificate and a valid driver’s license, this could be your chance.

About the Position

This is an entry-level government opportunity where you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day transport and messenger functions of the UIF office. No prior work experience is needed, but you’ll need to be medically fit and familiar with road regulations.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered, you need to have:

• Grade 10 certificate
• A valid driver’s license
• No prior experience required
• Basic knowledge of:
  • National Traffic Regulations
  • Batho Pele Principles
  • Public Service regulations and systems
  • Road safety and vehicle inspection

Skills Needed

• Good communication (verbal and written)
• Listening and interpretation of maps and signs
• Ability to conduct pre-trip inspections
• Computer literacy
• Time management and reliability

Responsibilities

Here’s what the job involves on a daily basis:

• Drive light and medium vehicles to transport passengers, mail, and office documents
• Keep detailed logs and records of vehicle use and goods handled
• Offer general clerical support and assist with messenger duties in the office
