Requirements
Essential:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or a Senior Certificate.
- Grade C accreditation with the PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority).
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the retail industry (e.g., shopping malls, warehouses).
Advantageous:
- At least 1 year of specific previous experience in a similar role.
Job Specifications
Key responsibilities include:
- Being vigilant and alert to identify suspicious activities and apprehend criminals or remove violators as necessary.
- Conducting random patrols of the premises to ensure visibility and reduce risks.
- Monitoring and controlling access to the premises, documenting and regulating entry.
- Investigating and reporting signs of damage or unlawful entry.
- Maintaining a professional demeanor while interacting with guests, customers, and employees.
- Performing access control by searching staff, suppliers, and company merchandisers.
- Completing all registers and occurrence books accurately.
- Assisting with opening and closing procedures, ensuring all doors and windows are secured.
Competencies
Essential:
- Knowledge of PSIRA regulations.
- Fire emergency training and relevant health and safety training.
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking).
Advantageous:
- Proficiency in a third language.
Conditions of Employment

- Must have a clear criminal record (MIE) and credit record.
